A meeting was held September 27, 1960 at the Love
Street Christian Church for the purpose of
establishing a New Testament Christian Church in
the northwest section of Mexico, Missouri.

About sixteen families began this work, with much
support from the Love Street congregation and First
Christian Church in Vandalia. Our first worship was
held on November 13, 1960 in the Hawthorne
School.

On October 1, 1961, groundbreaking ceremonies
were conducted at the corner of North Kentucky
Road and Curtis Street. Our Dedication Day service
was held on May 20, 1962, and the church was filled
to capacity.

A fellowship hall with classrooms on a second floor
above were added in 1981. Then, in 2002, five
additional acres were purchased on the east side of
the existing parking lot. This will provide many
options for future expansion.
